PRIME-CKD PhD Students on the Road with Their Results
With results emerging across multiple work packages, our PRIME-CKD PhD students have been actively sharing their progress at national and international conferences.
At the European Diabetic Nephrology Study Group meeting (Amsterdam, May 16–17), Erik Moedt and Andre de la Rambelje—both from Hiddo Lambers Heerspink’s lab at the University Medical Center Groningen—presented their work. Erik showcased findings from a collaboration with consortium partner Renalytix AI in his talk “Baseline Risk and Longitudinal Changes in KidneyIntelX.dkd Scores and Their Association with Kidney Outcomes in the CANVAS and CREDENCE Trials.” His work will also feature at the upcoming ERA Congress in Vienna (June 5) and the ADA Scientific Sessions in Chicago (June 23).
Andre presented “Protein Profiles and Associated Biological Pathways Among Chronic Kidney Disease Etiologies: New Insights from DAPA-CKD.” His research explores molecular differences across CKD causes and offers new clues to better understand disease mechanisms.
Meanwhile, Renske Grupstra (Dutch Medicines Evaluation Board, CBG) shared her work at the CBG’s annual Science Day. Her poster, “Raising the bar: How to improve biomarker threshold development?”, focused on the regulatory side of biomarker-guided treatments in nephrology. “Even though I presented preliminary results, there was strong interest,” she noted. “Everyone is eager to see more from the stakeholder interviews I conducted for Work Package 4.”
Exciting times for these three driven and passionate PRIME-CKD researchers!
